Help Paying for Youth Basketball in Regina: Every Option

If the fee is the thing standing between your kid and a season, this is the page to read. Every real funding option Regina families use, including the one that covers a whole year at HoopLife.

The short version
  • BOOST Kids pairs a Regina family with a local business that pays for the child's entire year at HoopLife. Applying is free and open to anyone.
  • KidSport Saskatchewan and Canadian Tire Jumpstart help eligible families cover registration fees for organised sport.
  • HoopLife offers payment plans on request for the league season.
  • Nobody in the gym knows which players are funded unless the family chooses to say so.

We say it on the league page and we mean it: cost should never be the reason a kid in this city does not play. If money is tight, you have real options, and using them is far more common than most families think.

BOOST Kids: a full year, covered

BOOST Kids is HoopLife's own program, and it is the biggest lever on this list. A Regina business sponsors one child and covers their entire year at HoopLife. Not one season, the year.

Three things families always want to know:

  • Anyone can apply. There is no gatekeeper and no cost to apply. You fill in the form on the BOOST Kids page and our team reads every application that comes in.
  • It is private. Nothing in your application goes further than our team and the business considering sponsoring your child, and nobody in the gym knows who is a BOOST Kid unless the family chooses to share it.
  • It is real. The kids on that page, Brooklyn, Zane, Millie and King, were all somebody's application form once.

KidSport and Jumpstart

Two established programs help Saskatchewan families cover registration fees for organised sport, and both are used by families in this gym:

  • KidSport Saskatchewan helps cover sport registration fees for eligible families, on the principle that all kids should be able to play.
  • Canadian Tire Jumpstart is a national charity that helps families cover the costs of organised sport and physical activity.

Eligibility and amounts are set by those programs and change over time, so check their current guidelines before you plan a season around them. Applying to them and to BOOST at the same time is completely fine.

Payment plans

The HoopLife League season is $450 a player, and payment plans are available on request. Ask the front desk or call or text 306-993-4570. It is a normal conversation here, not an awkward one.

Start smaller than you think

Funding aside, the cheapest ways into this gym are built in. Open gym is $10 a visit. The $10 Get Started package includes a planning meeting with a HoopLife Director and your kid's first coached session, and it exists precisely so you can see what you are buying before you commit to anything bigger. Our full cost guide lays out every price in one place.

If you are not sure which option fits your family, ask us. That conversation costs nothing, and it is one we have every week.

The coaches are outstanding. They are knowledgeable, patient, and truly care about each child's development. They take the time to break down skills, encourage effort, and build confidence in every player... The training sessions are well organized and very effective... You can really see the improvement in skills, teamwork, and overall understanding of the game after just a few sessions... We are extremely happy with our experience and would highly recommend HoopLife Basketball Training to any family looking for a high-quality program where kids can learn, grow, and truly enjoy the game.

We signed up our 8-year-old son for the 3-month membership and have really enjoyed our experience. Logistically, I like that all the sessions are laid out in advance, so you can choose what works best for your schedule. It was a great experience for our son to have different coaches and play with different kids regularly. He really enjoyed the coaches! They were friendly, knowledgeable and really helped him to improve his skills. The facility itself is fantastic, and we're glad we gave this a shot!

Zane from Hooplife is such an amazing Coach. Our son, Keith, not just loves the sport, but he also loves the coaches. We feel very welcome and “at home”, there. They're very friendly to everyone. Also, the skills that they're teaching our son are very helpful for his development. Our son hopes to get accepted in a basketball club while training with HoopLife.
