Hours: One night a week for a ten week season, plus the season's camps if you want them.
Pay: $18.50 to $25 an hour
A head coach owns one division of the HoopLife League for the whole ten week season. Same night, same players, every week. You run the training block, deliver the workshop and coach the games.
HoopLife Basketball runs the HoopLife Centre at 661 Solomon Cres in Regina: weekly skills sessions, the HoopLife League, camps through every school break, open gym, and Young Stars for our youngest players. We also run basketball clinics for communities right across Canada, and our own training app, with thousands of drills and workouts built by the same coaches who run the Centre. Everything we do is built to make a young player more confident, on the floor and off it.
What you would do
- Run the thirty minute training block that opens every league night, from the plan we write for your grade band.
- Deliver the Confidence, Leadership and Basketball IQ workshop that goes with that week.
- Coach the two games every division plays after the training block.
- Bring the whole gym into the middle at the start, give the key of the day, and close the night at centre court.
- Be the coach the same players see every week for ten weeks.
- Complete a criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening before your first shift. We walk you through it.

How much of a commitment is it?

Do I coach the same players all season?
Yes. That is the point. Your division sees you every week for ten weeks, which is what makes the coaching work.
Do I have to write the practices?
No. We give you the ten week plan for your grade band, with every drill written out and drawn on the floor.
What does it pay?
$18.50 to $25 an hour, depending on your experience.
