Hours: By the trip. Most are two to four days, and you choose which ones you take.

We run basketball clinics for communities right across Canada, and we are looking for a coach based in Thunder Bay to run the ones near you. You take the trips that suit you, we cover the travel, and you are never on the road on your own.
HoopLife Basketball runs basketball clinics for communities across Canada, a training centre in Regina, and our own training app with thousands of drills and workouts built by the same coaches. We have delivered 175 community clinics in every province except Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island and in all three territories. A clinic is two to four days in one community, coaching its young people, and most of the communities we visit ask us back.
Where you would go
Almost all of our Ontario work is in the northwest. Within driving distance we have run clinics for Fort William, Lac Seul, Mishkeegogamang, Eabametoong, Biigtigong Nishnaabeg, Lac La Croix and Couchiching at Fort Frances. Thunder Bay, Sioux Lookout and Red Lake are also where the flights north go, so the fly-in communities are reached from here too: Sandy Lake, Pikangikum, Deer Lake, Bearskin Lake and Sachigo Lake are all clinics we have run.
What you would do
- Travel to a community for two to four days and run basketball clinics for its young people.
- Coach alongside one or two other HoopLife coaches. Nobody travels alone.
- Work with the school or the band office on the ground so the days actually run.
- Write a short report when you get home, on your phone, so we know how it went and when they want us back.
- Complete a criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening before your first trip. We walk you through it.

- People already coaching locally who want to add paid trips around it.

Is travel paid for?
Yes. Flights, mileage, accommodation and living expenses are all covered on top of your hourly rate.
How often would I travel?
As often as you want to. Trips are offered and you take the ones that suit you. Most are two to four days.

Do I need to live in the city itself?
No. Thunder Bay is the base we work out from, so anywhere within reasonable reach of it works.
Do I travel on my own?
No. Clinics run with two or more coaches.
Do I need coaching experience?
Yes, some. These are multi-day clinics a long way from home, so we are looking for people who have coached or played at a good level. We give you the plan for every day.
