Phillip Morrison: A Pro Guard From Six Countries, In Our Gym

A former collegiate All-American who played professionally in six countries spent May 23, 2026 coaching Regina kids at the HoopLife Centre. That is what the Pro-Level Clinic Series is for.

The short version
  • Phillip Morrison is a former collegiate All-American point guard who played professionally in six countries.
  • He has trained thousands of athletes, from grassroots players to the NCAA, NBA and WNBA levels.
  • His HoopLife day ran three sessions: ages 7-10, ages 11-13, and high school and university.
  • He builds confident, high-IQ guards: pace, decisions, and handling pressure when the game gets real.

Some coaches teach moves. Phillip Morrison teaches what it takes to play the point when the game gets real — because he did it professionally on three continents.

Who he is

A former collegiate All-American point guard, Phillip went on to play professionally in six countries. As a skills development coach he has trained thousands of athletes, from grassroots players all the way to the NCAA, NBA and WNBA levels.

He is also the founder of Hoops for Christ, and has travelled the world leading camps, clinics and missions work — using basketball to build up players, coaches and whole communities. That mentorship side is a big part of why we wanted him in front of our kids, not just his handle.

What he ran at HoopLife

On May 23, 2026 he ran three sessions at the HoopLife Centre — ages 7-10, ages 11-13, and a high school and university group. The work was pure point guard school: playing with pace, making better decisions, handling pressure, and building the confident, high-IQ game that actually translates on game night. For guards especially, it was a massive day.

Part of a bigger pattern

Phillip's visit followed the Jordan Lawley and Marek Klassen clinic, and the Pro-Level Clinic Series keeps going: HoopLife flies pro-level coaches and players into Regina through the year so athletes here get elite reps without leaving home.

And when the clinic ends, the development does not. The same written coaching library runs our weekly sessions and 1-on-1 training, so the habits a pro sparks get drilled every week after.

The coaches are outstanding. They are knowledgeable, patient, and truly care about each child's development. They take the time to break down skills, encourage effort, and build confidence in every player... The training sessions are well organized and very effective... You can really see the improvement in skills, teamwork, and overall understanding of the game after just a few sessions... We are extremely happy with our experience and would highly recommend HoopLife Basketball Training to any family looking for a high-quality program where kids can learn, grow, and truly enjoy the game.

We signed up our 8-year-old son for the 3-month membership and have really enjoyed our experience. Logistically, I like that all the sessions are laid out in advance, so you can choose what works best for your schedule. It was a great experience for our son to have different coaches and play with different kids regularly. He really enjoyed the coaches! They were friendly, knowledgeable and really helped him to improve his skills. The facility itself is fantastic, and we're glad we gave this a shot!

Zane from Hooplife is such an amazing Coach. Our son, Keith, not just loves the sport, but he also loves the coaches. We feel very welcome and “at home”, there. They're very friendly to everyone. Also, the skills that they're teaching our son are very helpful for his development. Our son hopes to get accepted in a basketball club while training with HoopLife.
