The Opportunity

We’re seeking driven university students for our Student Fieldwork Internship to join our Saskatoon team and shape their future while impacting kids’ lives. Whether you’re studying kinesiology, sports and recreation management, health studies, business, or anything tied to sports, health, or business, this internship is your chance to design an experience that fits your degree, fuels your career, and builds a resume that stands out. You’ll be able to choose from options like: coaching athletes, working with high-performance athletes, working with our operations, sales, or marketing teams, learning from our executive team, and ultimately, you will have the opportunity to tailor your internship to match your career goals. This isn’t a cookie-cutter gig—it’s for students who want to own their path, work hard, and help youth rise through basketball.

What It Looks Like

Each internship is custom-fit to each intern based on their career and degree goals. See some examples below:

  • Coach and mentor athletes in basketball and or strength training sessions, building their confidence, discipline, and success.
  • Support high-performance athletes in camps, clinics, and programs, helping them unlock their potential.
  • Learn sales, marketing, and operations from our executive team, tackling tasks like campaigns, customer engagement, and what it takes to run a 7-figure sports business.
  • Coordinate schedules and manage facility logistics (equipment, inventory, maintenance) to deliver elite experiences.
  • Gain a wealth of experience through tackling various administrative tasks and responsibilities behind the scenes of HoopLife
  • Engage with families and athletes, ensuring every interaction is inspiring and valued.
  • Take ownership of tasks, from organizing events to solving problems, always bringing solutions, never excuses.
  • Work full-time or part-time in-person, giving your all to the mission, no task too small, from cleaning courts to leading drills.

Who You Are

  • A university student pursuing a degree in kinesiology, sports and recreation management, health studies, business studies, or a related field, who needs internship credit.
  • Zero ego—ready to serve athletes, athletes, and the team with humility and heart.
  • Passionate about impacting youth—you’re driven to help athletes dream big and succeed.
  • Hungry to learn—whether coaching, business, or operations, you’re all-in to grow.
  • A doer who owns every task, admits mistakes fast, and brings solutions.
  • A team player who puts others first, works like an owner, and no task is too small.
  • No experience required—just a drive to win, serve, and make a difference.
